Also, I know that he called the NAACP by its correct name, but it makes me really uncomfortable hearing a white person use the word "colored." I wouldn't have minded if he had just called it by its initials, but the phrase "colored people" coming out of a white guy's mouth squicks me out.
I'm a teacher in a district that is about 75% minority. I won't even say "colored pencils." I call them "color pencils" instead just because "colored" is SUCH a loaded term.
